P480A Parallel Box

A single BLUETTI AC240 delivers 2,400 W continuous output plenty for essentials, most appliances, and typical camping loads. But some jobs need more: a portable induction cooktop plus a fridge, a window AC unit plus a home office setup, a mobile welder plus supporting power tools. That’s the ceiling the P480A pushes past.

Connect the P480A to two AC240 units via their parallel ports, and the system behaves as a single 4,800 W / 120 V power source. Both units share the load automatically, drain at balanced rates, and can be charged simultaneously from a single wall outlet. It’s not just a bigger battery it’s a doubled-output system with genuinely useful capability improvements over two independent AC240s sitting side by side.

One important distinction: the P480A doubles wattage at 120 V, not split-phase 240 V. If you need 240 V for a well pump, electric range, or 240 V heat pump, this is not the accessory for that those need the AC500 or Apex 300 platforms with their respective split-phase kits. The P480A is for higher-wattage 120 V loads.

What paired AC240s + P480A can actually do

That takes the AC240 platform from “capable portable power station” into “genuinely serious mobile power system” territory suitable for larger RV builds, mobile events, food trucks, small worksites, and whole-home essential backup.

Charging cables the critical detail

The P480A’s parallel-charging design uses BLUETTI’s dedicated AC Parallel Charging Cables. These come in three current ratings, matching different outlet types you might have available:

The package includes only the 15 A cable. If you want faster combined charging and you probably do, given you’re already investing in a dual-AC240 system order the 30 A or 50 A cable at the same time as the P480A. Waiting until later means paying separate shipping.

Standard AC240 charging cables won’t work here. The parallel charging cables have a specific plug that connects to the P480A’s input port, not the AC240 itself. Ordinary AC240 wall-charging cables can’t be substituted.

How to actually use it

Once you have two AC240s and the P480A:

  1. Connect each AC240’s parallel port to the P480A via the supplied parallel cables (BLUETTI provides all needed inter-unit cabling with the P480A)
  2. Power on both AC240s — the P480A detects and pairs them automatically
  3. Plug in your loads:
    • For loads under 2,400 W: use either AC240’s individual output ports
    • For loads over 2,400 W: use the P480A’s own output ports directly, so the paired system can supply the full 4,800 W
  4. To charge both units: plug the 15 A (or optional 30 A / 50 A) charging cable from a wall outlet into the P480A’s input. Both AC240s charge together, auto-balanced

Auto-balance ensures neither unit drains faster than the other and both charge back to full simultaneously.

Where the P480A earns its cost

  • Large RV / off-grid van setups needing 4,800 W for air conditioning, induction cooking, or high-current tools
  • Mobile events — food trucks, market stalls, mobile services where continuous 3,000–4,500 W matters
  • Small worksites and light commercial — running multiple 15 A power tools simultaneously without tripping breakers
  • Home essentials-backup where 2,400 W isn’t enough (need to run fridge + heat pump + office + lights simultaneously)
  • Anyone with two AC240s already — the P480A is the accessory that unlocks the second unit’s real capability

Compatibility and limits

  • AC240 only. The P480A’s parallel port and communication protocol are AC240-specific. Not compatible with AC240P (verify with your reseller), AC200-series, AC300, AC500, EP500 Pro, Apex 300, or any other BLUETTI power station.
  • Two AC240 units required. The P480A does not function with a single AC240 (it’s a hub, not a booster). You must own both AC240s to use it.
  • Not a split-phase kit. Output is 4,800 W at 120 V, not 240 V. Cannot drive 240 V appliances.
  • Parallel charging cables only. Standard AC240 wall-charging cables cannot substitute you need the specific parallel-rated cable (15 A included, 30 A / 50 A sold separately).
  • For loads over 2,400 W, use the P480A’s output ports rather than the individual AC240’s outputs. Loads on a single AC240’s output port are capped at that unit’s individual 2,400 W limit.
