D050S DC Charging Enhancer(500W)

The one accessory that keeps your AC200 relevant

The BLUETTI AC200, AC200P, and AC200Max were flagship power stations in 2020–2022. They still work fine but by modern standards, their built-in charging options feel limited: no car port, no lead-acid input, and PV input capped at 700–900W. If you own one, you already know these limits.

The D050S DC Charging Enhancer is BLUETTI’s answer. It’s a 500W DC-DC converter that plugs into your AC200-series power station’s DC input port, opening up four charging paths the base unit doesn’t natively support:

  1. Extra solar capacity — up to 500W of additional PV panels running in parallel with the built-in solar input
  2. Car charging via 12V/24V cigarette lighter — top up while you drive
  3. Lead-acid battery integration — connect a 12V or 24V house/starter battery as an emergency input
  4. Expansion battery connection — hook up a B230, B300, or B300S battery pack to increase your total system capacity

If you have any BLUETTI unit from the AC200 line, this is the accessory that pushes it forward one more generation before you’d need to replace the whole system.

Solar input boost what “up to 1,200W or 1,400W” actually means

The AC200-series units cap their built-in solar input at:

  • AC200 / AC200P: 700W native PV input
  • AC200Max: 900W native PV input

Connect a D050S in parallel to a second solar array, and it feeds an additional 500W into the power station via the DC input port. Combined totals:

Model
Native PV Input
With D050S
Combined Max

AC200 700W +500W 1,200W
AC200P 700W +500W 1,200W
AC200Max 900W +500W 1,400W

Roughly 70% faster full-charge times from solar, assuming both arrays are catching good sun.

An honest note from real-world use: the D050S outputs 500W only when fed with enough input voltage (approximately 56 V DC at the input side). Lower-voltage panels or partial-shade conditions produce proportionally less. A 37V/30A/1050W solar setup, for example, tops out at around 350W through the D050S — not the full 500W nameplate. Plan your string voltage to hit or exceed 56V for peak output.

Car and lead-acid charging real off-grid utility

The D050S ships with two cables in the box: a solar cable (XT90-F to standard MC4-style solar connector) and a car charging cable (XT90-F to cigarette lighter plug).

Car charging — plug the cig-lighter cable into your vehicle’s 12V or 24V power outlet, and the D050S trickle-charges your AC200 as you drive. Not fast (limited by your car’s 10A outlet), but genuinely useful for road trips and overlanding. Full charge from empty takes many hours think of it as topping up between destinations, not as a primary charging method.

Lead-acid battery — connect the D050S to any 12V/24V lead-acid battery via the same cig-lighter cable (with an appropriate adapter for direct terminal connection). Useful for:

  • RV house battery integration
  • Solar system backup where you have a separate lead-acid battery bank
  • Emergency scenarios where you can pull power from a car battery even without the engine running

Battery pack expansion extend your AC200 with B230/B300/B300S

Without the D050S, the AC200 and AC200P have no way to accept an external battery pack. Adding the D050S plus the appropriate P090D or XT90 connector cable (sold separately) lets you daisy-chain a B230, B300, or B300S onto the AC200 for significantly more capacity.

Practical numbers:

  • AC200P (2,000 Wh) + B300 (3,072 Wh) via D050S = 5,072 Wh total
  • AC200P + B230 (2,048 Wh) via D050S = 4,048 Wh total

That’s a meaningful capacity upgrade often the difference between “runs my fridge for 12 hours” and “runs my fridge for 24 hours.” For AC200 owners considering an upgrade to the newer AC500 platform, expanding via D050S + B300 is a much cheaper option that squeezes more life out of the existing investment.

  • 1 × Car Charging Cable (XT90-F to cigarette lighter plug)
  • User manual and warranty documentation

Sold separately (for battery expansion use only):

  • P090D to XT90 cable — required to connect B230, B300, or B300S battery packs to the AC200/AC200P through the D050S. Not included in the D050S box.

Where the D050S earns its keep

  • Existing AC200/AC200P owners — the fastest, cheapest way to double effective solar charging rate without upgrading the power station
  • Overlanders and RV users — car charging capability that the AC200 didn’t ship with
  • Off-grid experimenters — lead-acid integration lets you tie the AC200 into an existing 12V house battery system
  • Budget-conscious BLUETTI owners — expanding an AC200 with a B300 via D050S costs less than replacing the whole system with a newer AC300 or AC500 setup

Compatibility and limits

  • AC200 / AC200P / AC200Max / EB150 / EB240 only. The D050S is not compatible with any current-generation BLUETTI power stations (AC300, AC500, EP500 Pro, Apex 300, AC180, AC70, or newer EB-series units). Those platforms have their own expansion and input systems.
  • IP20 rating means indoor use only. Don’t leave the D050S exposed to rain or direct outdoor weather. Solar panels can obviously be outdoors — the D050S itself should stay under cover.
  • 500W output requires ~56V input. Lower-voltage sources produce proportionally less output. This is a hard limit of the DC-DC converter design.
  • Not a replacement for a proper solar charge controller on larger installations. For serious solar-plus-battery-bank setups feeding modern BLUETTI units, look at the SolarX 4K or D300S instead those are designed for real rooftop-class solar arrays.
  • Battery expansion requires the P090D to XT90 cable (sold separately). Order both together if you’re planning to add a B300 or B230 to your AC200.
